Home Smoked Bacon (1lb)

My family has been buying this wonderful bacon as far back as 1948 when I was seven years old. Back then, Grandpa had his meat and cheese store in West Salem right at the Erie Railroad crossing on US42. My parents would stop in there on our way to Akron to visit dad's sister. Now, whenever we come over to the Amish area we phone in an order to take back home for us and some of the neighbors. We use it in baked beans, fried green beans, BLT's and for breakfast. What an aroma...no other bacon even comes near!

If you like bacon (and I know you do..), this is the one for you. It's extremely tasty but be warned, if you eat this, you will not want to go back to that watery flavorless stuff from the supermarket. Luckily Grandpa's ships so you can get it whereever you are. I'm about to put in an order for my ten pounds, which at the rate we eat it, will not last very long at all. The other good thing is that since the bacon's high quality, the bacon drippings are perfect for grilling. I wrap a tenderloin (not the most flavorful meat) in tin foil, smear it with the drippings I keep in a jar in the fridge, put it on my charcoal grill for 30 minutes for 3lb, and then slice it on to my salad - perfect! The smoked bacon is the best I have ever had. My family and I take a special weekend trip every so often just for the bacon. Buying a slab at a time.... OOOOOH IT'S SOOOOOOOOOOOO GOOD Keep making the good stuff and We will keep coming
